PM Imran to accord warm welcome and personally receive Saudi Crown Prince on his arrival in Islamabad tomorrow

LAHORE – Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow (Saturday) on a two-day official visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Radio Pakistan reported.

The Crown Prince will be accompanied by a high-powered delegation including members of the Saudi Royal family, key ministers and leading businessmen.

During his visit, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will call on the President Dr Arif Alvi and will also meet the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff.

A Senate delegation would also call on the Crown Prince to discuss ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The Saudi Ministers accompanying the Crown Prince would meet their counterparts to discuss bilateral cooperation in their respective fields.

During his stay, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will be signing a number of agreements and MoUs in diverse sectors.

The two countries will also discuss ways and means to develop a robust follow-up mechanism to ensure effective implementation and quick progress on tangible areas of cooperation.

This will be the first state-level visit of the dignitary to Pakistan since his elevation to the position of the Crown Prince in April 2017.

Chairing a meeting in connection with the visit of Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that a historic welcome will be given to the Saudi Crown Prince and his delegation on their arrival in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will himself receive and greet the Saudi Crown Prince. The visiting dignitary will be given a salute of 21 guns.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the upcoming visit of Saudi Crown Prince is highly significant as it is a milestone in numerous successes of PTI led government at the foreign policy front. He said Pakistan has once again become a key player in Middle East politics.

He said during the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit, the agreements and MoUs to be signed and the overall investment coming into the country will be more than overall investment during the last decade. He informed that Saudis will invest 8 billion dollars alone in an oil refinery.
