With the holy month of Ramazan upon us, somehow we tend to be good, do good. There is something so holy about this month that makes us caring towards others, opens up our hearts, fill us with light and just blesses us in every aspect. The beauty and warmth of Ramazan is just indescribable but somehow Surf Excel has been successful in managing to capture its full essence in their Ramazan campaigns.
I don’t know about you, but I have consistently cried for three years after watching the brilliant advertisement by Surf excel during Ramazan.
Does any of you remember their 2016 campaign? I couldn’t help but shed tears when that Baba Ji looked so helpless and I will never forget that moment when those three kids helped him. I mean that’s the spirit I’d like to see in everyone around me. And as the say goodness is contagious, those pure hearts forced everyone to lend a hand, it was just so so beautiful. That wasn’t just another campaign, it was a lesson, a beautiful story that deserved to be told.
Moving on to 2017, from giving out a message to help others while keeping the fear of getting stains far away (Kion k Surf Excel hay na)the narrative of campaign moved to teach us to take care of those around us and deserve a helping hand. Shahid’s regard for Saleem chacha was so so so irresistible that I wanted to be Shahid. I think that was the beauty of #naikiEKIbadat. Also, trust me on this that Saleem chacha wasn’t the only one crying, I’m sure everyone cried with him. Blame it on the captivating story and brilliant cinematography and breathtaking track but I simply loved it.
2018 was no different. Blame it on my sensitive heart or awe-inspiring storytelling, I couldn’t help but cry out loud while asking my mother if we should too stop fighting ( She had refused to make me Samosas). Uff the goodness of Adil and the spirit of just giving and sharing, that warm family reunion and the combination of tears and waves of laughter was so contagious that it was brilliant.
All these campaigns by Surf Excel during Ramazan weren’t just campaigns but they offered a lot of lessons to young kids without even preaching. They filled the audience with the spirit of Ramazan and Islam in a subtle way and made all of us reflect on our behaviors without us realizing. They showed us that visible stains on our clothes are far better than those on our spirit and relations; if sometimes we have to opt for one, we should always opt for former because they are easily removed. I don’t know about you, but I’m so psyched about what Surf Excel has in store for us this year. I’m sure of one thing, whatever they’ll come up with, it will reaffirm my belief on humanity.
