LAHORE (Staff Report) – Ajoka’s youth theater festival, now in its 3rd day is attracting young appreciative crowds every day.
Theater teams from all over the country are participating in five day festival being held at the Alhamra cultural complex at Qaddafi stadium.
Theater in collaboration with the Lahore arts council and CKU the Danish Center for culture and development the motto of festival is Empowerment through theater.
In the five day theatre extravaganza, Ajoka’s famous plays such as “ Dekh Tamasha chalta ban” , “ Lo phir basant Aee “ , “Marya hoa kutta” and it’s new production “ kaun banay ga badshah” entertained the audience with their wide range of humor , music and political comments.
Empower Theater festival has the objective of celebrating our rich cultural heritage and encouraging theater for social change. Participants in this five day festival include theater groups from Lahore and other parts of the country including students clubs, civil society groups and Ajoka’s team.
The plays are excellent examples of the rich mix of enjoyable and colorful form and thought provoking socially relevant content.
The young talent from Lahore College for women university, Actor’s Studio Karachi, Murk Theater Hyderabad, Government college university dramatic club are also presenting their talent and commitment to socially meaningful art.
Ajoka Theater has been producing theater for social change from over 31 years and in these three decades.
This festival will conclude on 20th December with the performance of famous Khawar Ali Qawwals.
