Bollywood Star Govinda Shoots Himself While Handling Revolver

MUMBAI – Seasoned Indian actor Govinda landed in hospital after shooting himself accidently on Tuesday. The Raja Babu star suffered a leg injury from his own licensed revolver while preparing to travel to Kolkata in wee hours.

Reports in Indian media said the 60-year-old was putting weapon in cabinet when it accidentally fell and discharged, striking him below the left knee. He was promptly taken to CritiCare Hospital for treatment.

The bullet was successfully removed and condition of actor is now stable. As the incident sparked frenzy among fans, it was reported that B. Town celeb is out of danger and recovering well.

Govinda’s daughter, Tina Ahuja is currently with him, saying he underwent successful surgery, and all tests conducted by the doctors returned positive.

For the unversed, always treat as it is loaded and keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, and identify your target and what’s beyond it.  You need to store firearms securely in a locked safe, and avoid handling weapons under the influence.
