Militant commander detained in Karachi

KARACHI (Web Desk) – A top militant commander of banned organization have arrested on Thursday.

Police claimed to have arrested him from Rizvia Society area of Karachi.

According to initial reports, the accused, identified as Abdur Rehman alias Sindhi, was wanted to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The FBI had frozen the bank accounts of the suspect in 2014, the police said.

Police also revealed that the accused used to run an Al-Qaeda network from Afghanistan and he had also held meetings with Osama Bin Laden, Mullah Omer and Ayman al-Zawahiri.

According to police Abdur Rehman, who was involved in the killing of American journalist Daniel Pearl, had also got injured in a drone strike in Afghanistan.
