ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the postal department to issue stamps in honor of renowned philanthropist and humanitarian Abdus Sattar Edhi, officials said.
The prime minister said the postage stamp should have the picture and name of Edhi on it.
The leading humanitarian passed away at the age of 92 on Friday evening, after losing a years-long battle with kidney failure.
Edhi had been on dialysis since 2013. According to his son, he could not undergo kidney transplantation due to his advanced age.
