ISLAMABAD – The family of a Pakistani scientist has left the United States after his 7-year-old son was attacked by class fellows for being Muslim.
Zeeshan ul-hassan Usmani, who happens to be a leading computer scientist and an entrepreneur, said that his first-grader son named Abdul Aziz was beaten by his fellow students.
“Abdul Aziz’s class fellow forced him to eat non-halal food and upon refusal, the student along with others punched him in the face, kicked him in the stomach, and twisted his arm while chanting ‘Muslim’,” Usmani said.
The Pakistani researcher also uploaded a picture of his son on Facebook, saying “Welcome to the United States of America of Donald Trump.”
“He was born and raised [in the United States]. He was born in Florida. As American as you can think of. He likes Captain America. He wants to be president of the United States of America,” Usmani said in another statement.
Usmani has won several awards in the United States for his research and contributions to the field of computer sciences as an entrepreneur.
He received the Best IT Innovation Award in 2012, the Teradata IT Excellence Award in Research and Development in 2013, and the World Startup Cup in 2014.
He also remained winner at the TiE StartUp Cup Pakistan for his outstanding project on terrorism forecasting.
