Standing up to the intimidation and threats of defamation is a matter of extreme rarity for girls who live in the eastern societies as those who do not succumb to blackmailing and wrong advances by men who seek to exploit their ‘weaknesses’ risk their ‘dignity’ and may face embarrassment.
But a brave girl in India, who was threatened by a cyber bully who blackmailed her that he would publicize the private photos and videos that she had reportedly sent to her boyfriend, stood resilient and took on the culprit.
Taruna Aswani decided not to bow down to a cyberbully and took to the social media to spread the word about how a man who claims to know her is blackmailing her over emails and threatening to make public some private videos of the woman he has gained access to through hacking.
“I have access to your all your friends/social media and family and co-workers(NMS healthcare and heritage inc) contacts that you have and I think some will be happy and some embarrassed to see it but if you have a thick skin then it shouldn’t worry you,” the bully wrote to her in an email.
She shared the two emails and said that she has chosen to stand up to the bully so that “other women may take a lesson to stand up to bullies and low life’s like this”(sic).

According to India Today, Mumbai Police have responded, and asked for a formal complaint.
Netizens came out in solidarity with the brave girl and are speaking against the cyber bullying.
