ٰISLAMABAD – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has called upon the world community to take notice of Indian provocations against Pakistan.
In an interview with a private news channel, he said India is continuously committing ceasefire violations. He said India is heating up the situation at the LoC and the working boundary due to some internal compulsions.
Defence minister said any escalation of tension between the two nuclear-armed neighbours could prove catastrophic for the whole region.
He said Pakistan is using diplomatic and international forums to highlight the Indian belligerence. Asif said Pakistani troops have been responding to Indian firing in a befitting manner.
The minister expressed concern over the use of heavy weaponry by the Indian troops in the recent LoC firing. He said it is regrettable that extremist elements have come to power in India which could become a source of destruction not only of their own country but for the whole region.
He said the regional countries should be wary of the extremist tendencies of India. He said Indian troops were committing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and using brute force against innocent Kashmiris.
