ISLAMABAD – WAPDA has decided to scale up the prices of power tariff from Rs 4.89 per unit to Rs 7 per unit to pay off the net Hydle profit of hydro power projects.
Sources said that the summary for scaling up prices in this regard will be sent to NEPRA for approval soon. Chairman WAPDA Muzammil Hussain Punjab has demanding more time for payment but CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has directed for early payment of Net Hydle profit.
WAPDA will have to pay Rs 38 billion to Punjab government till December 31 while the other money will be delivered in three installments from which each installment will be comprised of Rs 1.4 billion and for this WAPDA has decided to receive additional money of Rs 82 billion from consumers.
After delivering the aerial money to KP amid in net Hydle profit, CM Punjab also directed the Chairman WAPDA for payment of aerial money of all projects including Ghazi Barotha Project.
Out of all hydro power projects, whose payment was given by WAPDA to Punjab government, Ghazi Barotha project is one of the biggest projects having 1450 mega watt. Similarly, other projects including Chashma Hydro power project of 184 mega Watt, Jinnah Hydro power project of 96 mega Watt, Rasool hydro power project of 22 mega watt, chi chon ki Malian hydro project of 13.2 mega watt, Nandipur hydro project of 13.8, Shadi wall hydro project of 13.5 and Renala hydro project o 1.1 mega watt.-Online
