Nisar says PPP angry with him on FIA inquiries

ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Saturday that leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were angry with him due to the continuing inquiries of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against them.

Nisar said that leaders of PPP wanted to stop cases against them, but “I did not stop them”. He highlighted that the FIA was conducting the investigation on the orders of Supreme Court. Cases against Khurshid Shah were stopped during the tenure of PPP, he observed.

The minister also slammed all allegations levelled against him regarding his desire to become prime minister, adding that he received many chances in his 45-year-long career in politics to become the prime minister.

The interior minister added that no any ‘deal’ has been made with former president of PPP Asif Ali Zardari for his return to Pakistan. Zardari did not need any deal in the current scenario, he said.
