Two PIA planes escape accidents

LAHORE – Two planes of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) escaped accidents as one jet’s tyre burst while the other’s windscreen was broken.

According to media reports, the windscreen of PIA aircraft PK 751, going from Lahore to Oslo, cracked. Engineers asked for eight hours to replace the windscreen following which the administration cancelled the flight.

In another incident tyre of PK 709 scheduled to fly from Lahore to Manchester burst during takeoff. However, it flew after a delay of six hours. Spokesman PIA said that both flights had scheduled repairing while the Oslo-bound flight was cancelled as it was not allowed to land at night. -Online
