36 suspects apprehended in Peshawar as operation Radd ul Fassad gains pace

PESHAWAR – Police arrested at least 36 suspects from Gulberg and Pishtakhara area of Peshawar city during a search operation on Saturday.

Over 200 houses were searched during the operation in Gulberg leading to the arrest of 16 people including 12 suspected terrorists. Another four were arrested for having incomplete tenancy documents.

‘Drugs were recovered from the arrested suspects’ police said.

On the other hand, police arrested 20 people including 11 suspects from Pishtakhara area. During the operation two pistols, dozens of bullets and drugs were also confiscated.

Operation Radd Ul Fassad launched by the armed forces after a recent string of terror attacks is underway with full pace across the country. Top civil-military leadership has reaffirmed taking the operation to its logical end.

Law enforcement officials are on the hunt for suspects and militants across the country and especially in big cities. Pakistan has intensified its operations near the border area of Afghanistan.
