Rajkumar Hirani’s 2009 blockbuster hit 3 idiots was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and also became one of the very few Indian films to become successful at its time in overseas markets, earning overseas total to more than US $65 million.
The movie was an ideal conduit to pass on to the audiences socially relevant messages and was appreciated by all in the film world to such an extent that now filmmakers as far as in Mexico want to give its own people a taste of its fandom!
