If you have always had the urge to cheat during a game of Monopoly, you are not alone! Since, according to a study by Hasbro, the company behind the popular childhood game, almost half of all players cheat at some point or the other!
If you find yourself falling into that category, we have some good news for you! Hasbro has come up with a special edition of the game titled, “Monopoly: Cheater’s Edition,”- a game where players are actually encouraged to cheat! This is for all the sneaky players who slip a hundred or two straight from the bank when no one’s looking.

The version includes 15 new “cheat cards,” which work by the principle that players are allowed to move their piece ahead a few paces or get away with not paying rent-as long as they can get away without getting caught! It also comes equipped with a handcuff and is set to be released in fall.
And even if players get caught, the game’s new rules mean they get away with it under pretty lenient circumstances- a few fines, a trip to the jail and you’re free to go.
However, the cheaters edition rewards criminal behaviour and if players make sure their illicit activities go unnoticed, they given property and cash for their skillful stealth.
In a comment to the Business Insider, senior vice president of Hasbro gaming Jonathan Berkowitz, the cheater’s edition was created because the company has “finally decided to embrace our less-than-honest fans by encouraging them to partake in those iconic Monopoly moments that occur during family game nights.”
