Go green: 30,000 people are going to plant trees in Islamabad

Islamabad- City development authority (CDA) is now giving away one sapling to each house to promote plantation in the capital. CDA plans to distribute 30,000 saplings to houses with the collaboration of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad. They plan to achieve their goal of 30,000 by the end of March.

This will not only encourage people to plant more trees but will also give proper education to the citizens regarding how to grow them. CDA has four vehicles actively dedicated to this cause which will distribute the saplings around the city. The first phase of the campaign will end by 19th March.

During the second phase of the campaign elected representatives will be invited to plant trees. CDA plans to plant 70,000 indigenous plants over the second phase.

In the third and last phase of this campaign large number of plantations will be done in targeted areas like Margalla Hills National Park and Botanical Garden Banigalla.
