Film Manto starring Nawazuddin to be revealed at Cannes

MUMBAI-  The famous writer of Subcontinent ‘ Saadat Hasaan Manto’ is still remembered for his literature, stories and play writings after almost half-century of his death.

Recently, Bollywood is dedicating a biopic about the troubled life of Indian-Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto. Indian Actor ‘ Nawazuddin’ is going to play the role of ‘Manto’ for the upcoming biopic.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been achieving high name by his long struggle in the Showbiz Industry over the past decade.  While talking to the AFP media’s person,’Nawazuddin’ said that “When your film gets selected in a good category, you feel confident that you are on the right track and your choice of films is good”.

The movie, ‘Manto’ is being directed by Nandita Das, has been selected for the Un Certain Regard category of the film festival which opens Tuesday.

“I enjoy Cannes because it is such a big and prestigious platform. It´s a whole world revolving around films,” expressed Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

“Manto was an honest man who wrote what he saw. He was transparent and there was no hypocrisy in his life,” said Siddiqui.

“He thought about things in the 1940s which we fail to see or think about even today. He spoke and wrote the truth, and truth never gets old. To play him you have to be truthful too,” he added.

The influential Writer ‘ Manto’ will never be forgotten and his stories are classic and will always be a part of the Film and Drama Industry of India and Pakistan.
