LAHORE- Meera jee is again in headlines as today, a family court in Lahore has ruled that Lollywood’s actress Meera jee ‘s Nikkah nama is not a fraud or false and that she had married to Attiqur Rehman in the past. The court has declared them as husband and wife.
The Family Judge Babar Nadeem has rejected Meera’s petition that her nikkah to Attiqur Rehman was forged and after 9 long years, the Judge had announced the judgment for the marriage suit.
Reading out an 18-page written verdict on Meera’s petition against ‘jactitation of marriage’, the judge ruled that “The nikkah name is not false,” and that a Nikkah khawan (Priest) confirmed her nikkah to Rehman.
In July 2009, Meera had gone to a family court for the request of restraining Rehman from calling her his wife. In her petition, she had told the court that she had not solemnised the marriage.
She had also filed that the Nikkah nama which Rehman had submitted was forged and there was no record of it in the union council concerned. The matter was being highlighted by the media back then and in 2015 Rehman asked for an arrest warrant for Meera but nothing happened. Rehman had earlier claimed that he and Meera tied the knot on September 2, 2007.
Apart from today’s new, earlier this month, the Lollywood star had announced that she is leaving the country and moving to the United States permanently.
The actor had not disclosed the reason for leaving Pakistan yet, but she says of making it public soon. Let’s hope that things go smoothly for Meera jee!
