LAHORE – A Facebook appeal is going viral to highlight the plight of a Pakistani couple, who needs a visa for India.
Maria Abdullah, a resident of Karachi has talked about her urgency to reach the neighbouring country due to her husband’s sick health. Her husband, Aleem Haider Junejo has a rare genetic disorder which has irreversibly damaged his lungs resulting in the need for lung transplant. The disease is likely to result in a heart failure.
Aleem requires a cardio-pulmonary transplant is not available in Pakistan but is very much an ongoing treatment in India.

Even though the pair has money and language skills, comparable to any other, for the trip, they are yet unable to get an Indian visa.
After applying for the second time, there was a call from the Indian High Commission saying that the process has been rejected and hence, no lung transplant.
Maria has started a social media campaign to help her husband get treated across the border.
Her post on Facebook has so far reached more than 6,000 shares and 2,500 likes.
