Shawwal moon sighted, Nation to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The entire nation will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow after a formal announcement that the moon of the month of Shawwal has been sighted.

The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has made the announcement that the moon of the month of Shawwal has been sighted and that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Saturday.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the Holy month of Ramazan. Ramazan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar during which Muslims across the world observe 29 or 30 days of fasting.

The announcement was made by Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, after chairing the meeting of the committee in Islamabad.
