Afghanistan should stop involving other countries in its own problems: Maleeha Lodhi
ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) - Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr. Maleeha Lodhi has said that Afghanistan should stop involving other countries in its complications and should resolve its own issues.

“The safe havens of terrorists, which escaped to Afghanistan from Pakistan, should be destroyed and the terrorists who have sought shelter in the neighbouring country should be returned to us,” Maleeha Lodhi said.

“Holding fruitful negotiation for lasting peace in Afghanistan is also the responsibility of the country,” she added.

Maleeha Lodhi in a television interview further said that drone strikes in Pakistan were against the country’s security and sovereignty and in violation of the UN charter. She added that her country denounced such strikes.

Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations further said that the international community had supported Pakistan’s efforts to curb terrorism. “Terrorism in the country will soon end,” Lodhi vowed.
