ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani Saturday barred a delegation of Pakistani senators from visiting Washington over unnecessary delay in their visa processing.
A delegation headed by Deputy Chairman Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was scheduled to leave for the United States on February 10 in order to participate in a debate. The deputy chairman, in this regard, had submitted a visa request last week with the embassy concerned.
Delay in the processing irked the chairman of Senate who cancelled the visit of senators. Rabbani said that the delegation will not visit the country until an explanation is sent by the U.S.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had signed an executive order imposing travel ban on seven Muslim countries. However, the US court had suspended the order.
