ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has passed an order to remove the names of five directors of software company Axact from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The government in May 2015 put the names of the officials on the ECL for their alleged involvement in selling of bogus degrees of non-chartered universities.

IHC Justice Athar Minallah while hearing the case on Wednesday directed the authorities to strike the names of  company’s Chief Executive Officer Shuaib Sheikh, Director Ayesah Shuaib and others off the ECL.

The court issued orders after the Ministry of Interior failed to provide any lawful or valid reason for refusing to remove their names from the ECL.
