Sections of motorways closed due to heavy fog

LAHORE (Staff Report) - Pakistan Motorways Police has announced that different sections of Lahore-Islamabad motorway and Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad motorways have been closed for traffic due to heavy fog and reduced visibility.

According to a statement the visibility is extremely low between Lahore and Sheikhupura region on motorway, hence  commuters are instructed to avoid travelling in the area.

The sections of motorways will remain closed till indefinite time while travelers are advised to take all necessary steps for the safety on the roads in the foggy weather.

The authorities urged citizens to cooperate will officials on duty during their travel on motorways.

Update: According to Motorways spokesman the Lahore-Sheikhupura section has been reopened for light traffic as of 10:30am.
