Single judge ruling against PM Nawaz would send him packing, claims Babar Awan
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and seasoned lawyer Babar Awan claimed on Monday that the premier would be disqualified provided one more judge rules against him.

“Two out of five judges of the Supreme Court already believe that PM should be disqualified. If one more judge rules for the PM’s disqualification then [we will hear] ‘Go Nawaz Go’ [chants] from the Supreme Court as well,” he said.

Talking to newsmen outside the supreme court of Pakistan, Awan asserted that the entire nation had full confidence in the apex Court and its proceedings in the landmark case.

“We trust the Supreme Court. The entire nation, the PTI, the lawyers, everyone stands with the court,” he said and added that Maryam faction has defeated Nawaz Group within the ruling PML-N.

On the other hand, PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haque reiterated the demand for PM’s resignation, calling him a “blemish” on Pakistan’s name.

“PM violated the Constitution and the public’s trust. He lied to the cabinet, his family, and the entire public,” he said.

“The Supreme Court’s decision in the case will be a beacon of guidance for the coming generations,” he added.

It is relevant to mention that in the April 20th judgment two judges, that would be the chief justice of Pakistan in future, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Gulzar Ahmed in their dissenting notes voted to disqualify the premier.

However, the other three judges provided a breather to the ruling family and asserted that the premier should not be disqualified at this stage.

The apex court then ordered formation of a joint investigation team to completely investigate the wheeling and dealing of 'House of Sharif'.

After completing the probe, the JIT submitted a explosive report apparently denting the claims of Sharif family.

The apex court has resumed hearing the case and in a matter of few days, the political fate of chief executive would be unveiled.

The three-member bench comprising Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Ejaz Afzal and Justice Aijaz ul Ahsan are now hearing the historic case and according to Babar Awan, only a single vote opposing the Sharif family would be enough to send Premier Nawaz Sharif packing.
