LAHORE – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr. Tahirul Qadri on Thursday left for London for a three to four week long visit.
PAT chief’s spokesperson said that Qadri went on a regular visit where he would hold meetings with his followers. After visiting European countries, he will go to Canada for medical checkups.
The PAT chief had reached Pakistan on November 28 last year and launched a movement to get justice for the victims of Model Town incident.
He also held a rally at the Mall Road Lahore against the Punjab government demanding resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and law minister Rana Sanaullah. The protest rally was attended by political parties, including PPP, PTI, MQM-P participated to support Qadri.
Later, he abruptly changed his agitation policy against the government and announced to focus on legal battle.
“We will speed up legal proceedings for getting justice as it is not the right time to get involved in any agitation movement,” said Qadri while addressing a press conference at the PAT head office on January 28, 2018.
