Mufti Sayeed sworn in as chief minister of Indian-held Kashmir

SRINAGAR (Web Desk) – Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, the chief of People’s Democratic Party(PDP), has taken oath as the Chief Minister of the Indian held state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The oath taking ceremony was held in governor house of the state.

The state was under governor rule, since PDP earned a majority in elections held in January 2015 but failed to establish a government unless Bhartia Janta Party (BJP) agreed at an alliance.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Mufti after he was sworn in as head of the state government.
