SHARJAH – Police in UAE have launched the world’s biggest driving licence which recently earned an entry to the Guinness World Records.
Brig. Saif Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-In-Chief of Sharjah Police, expressed his pride about this achievement during a ceremony at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at the General Command of Sharjah Police earlier this week.
The move comes in support of the UAE’s global competitiveness drive, with an emphasis on Emirati innovation and creativity to break Guinness records in all fields. The initiative also aims to highlight the importance of a driving licence, the Emirates247 reported.
Brig. Al Shamsi said the proposal came from an individual and was passed to the Sharjah Police. He noted that a team was set up to implement the proposal in a record time.
Huda Khashab, project manager at Guinness World Records, made the announcement and handed the Guinness certificate to Brig. Al Shamsi.
