Talks only way forward to resolve all issues between Pakistan and India: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that talks are the only way forward to resolve all issues between Pakistan and India, the Radio Pakistan reported.

In an interview with BBC, he said Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region and de-escalation of tension because war would be suicidal for both the atomic powers.

Regarding Pakistan’s release of Indian captured pilot Abhinandan, the foreign minister clarified that Pakistan was not under pressure or compulsion on Pakistan to release him.

The Foreign Minister said our policy is very clear and we will not allow Pakistani soil to be used by any group or organization for terrorist activity against anyone, including India.

He said Pakistan has paid physical and economic price in the war against terrorism and we know what terrorism is.

The Foreign Minister questioned as to why the grave situation in Occupied Kashmir is being overlooked by the world community, where the brutal Indian forces are torturing, killing and maiming innocent Kashmiri people.

He said we are against terrorism whether it is committed by individual, organization or state.

The Foreign Minister said a section of Indian media is behaving irresponsibly and playing a dangerous game.
