ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, have been arrested by police from D-Chowk.
According to media reports, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan were arrested from D-Chowk and transferred to the Secretariat police station.
It is worth noting that PTI had announced a protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad today, after which party workers started arriving at D-Chowk. Imran Khan’s sisters also reached the protest site, where they were arrested.
In addition, police arrested dozens of workers who arrived at D-Chowk, and used tear gas to disperse those arriving in groups.
Heavy shelling also took place at Faizabad and Murree Road to prevent further advancement, which continues intermittently.
The police have arrested both male and female workers from D-Chowk, and more protesters are being detained.
Schools closed, metro service suspended as Islamabad sealed ahead of PTI protest
