Deemed as PML (N)’s hero without a cape, he has all the luck and will to bring the party out of the current inconvenient situation. Poised with all likely qualities of a leader, Shehbaz Sharif’s performance in Punjab stands persevered and unabated; paving the way for PML (N)’s win in general elections 2018.
Not only he is best suited to be President PMLN after Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif is also best suited as a candidate for the slot of the premiership in general elections 2018.
He has his family’s support, party’s support and most importantly, the support of PMLN voters. Even the voters of the opposition party PTI are of the view that Shehbaz Sharif is undoubtedly the most suitable candidate to run for the premiership.
Looking at how Shehbaz Sharif managed to rise through all the thick and thin during his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister, we find a lot on his plate than any other Chief Minister Pakistan has ever seen.
Especially, if the people of his province are endorsing his work and good governance, he needs no special endorsements then.
Talking about his own constituency in Lahore, PP-159, a recent survey on-ground survey conducted by Journalist Habib Akram registered that a majority of 67 percent people was satisfied by the performance of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif; would win the next general elections’ 2018 conveniently.
Yet, we see, from journalists to artists, to politicians to leaders and representatives of foreign countries, are all praise for the man in question.
A recent example of this is a ringing endorsement of his capabilities as the chief of Punjab province by Mayor London Sadiq Khan. Sadiq Khan said the progress and infrastructure development in Punjab under Shahbaz Sharif’s leadership, is “very impressive”.
He said: “I was really impressed with Lahore. The progress that has taken place in Punjab is really very impressive: lots of infrastructure projects, motorways, underpasses, the progress of infrastructure with relation to the broadband.”
Dr. Ishrat Hussain, in his recently launched book Governing the ungovernable, termed Shehbaz Sharif a “reformer”. He appreciated his dynamic leadership for turning things around in Punjab and emerging as a role model for the Chief Ministers of other provinces.
Renowned Educationist, Sir Micheal Barber termed Shehbaz Sharif “inspiration for the world.”
He said: “His energy is a complete inspiration for me as he is certainly recognized across the world that Punjab has a special leader. For me, its been a fantastic experience to work with him.”
Famous for his Punjab Speed (nicknamed by the Chinese leadership and companies), Shehbaz Sharif has a steady record of completing mega projects within the set frame of time.
By hook or by crook, he made sure that the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre Phase-I was inaugurated by 25th December’2017. Through PKLI&RC, Pakistani doctors previously serving abroad have come back to Pakistan to serve their own country!
When the Orange Line Metro Train was given go ahead in Decmber’2017, the Chief Minister, expressing his pleasure speaking to Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan said that he is thinking to put in full effort to launch it by March 2018! February 26’ 2018, Orange Line Metro Train hits its first successful trial run in Lahore. This was unimaginable if Shehbaz Sharif was not Punjab’s chief.
Shehbaz’s stance on Pakistan’s foreign policy as often reflected in his statements on important issues is one that resonates well with the views of the general public.
On Trump’s remarks against Pakistan, he strongly registered that the time has come to stop receiving aid from America. Upon the Rohingya Massacre, he termed the brutal killings of Muslims as “genocide”.
In a recent survey conducted by Transparency International, Shehbaz Sharif has been voted as the “most honest” leader by the respondents.
Seen as the next likely Prime minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif’s Pattoki public address acted as an election campaign starter pack after being appointed as PMLN president on the very same day by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Chairman District Council Kasur, Rana Sikandar Hayat after a successful public gathering at Pattoki, Kasur tweeted:
Here's to the one who delivered and has unparalleled achievements. A giant among his peers and yet loyal to core. A humble worker of PMLN and our next Prime Minister
— Rana Sikandar Hayat (@RanaSikandarH) February 27, 2018

Even corruption allegations by PTI Chairman Imran Khan could do no harm to Shehbaz Sharif’s credibility. When Imran Khan hyped the Multan Metro Corruption Scandal, the Chinese company involved was blacklisted by China and a clean chit was given to Punjab Government.
A defamation suit was sent to Imran Khan as a backfire by Shehbaz Sharif, while Imran Khan himself never appeared in court hearings following the case.
Just when his rivals begin hitting below the belt, they ending up gaining nothing but further strengthening chief ministers resolve. Successful trial run of the orange line metro train is a very recent example.
People are eyeing this success as a major voter turnout for Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in general elections 2018. Leading the party as President, Shehbaz Sharif instills new hope into the political future of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
