German ambassador gets haircut from roadside barber in Karachi

KARACHI – German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler, who has been won the hearts of countrymen by mingling with locals, visiting ordinary food shops and travelling by train, has shared his another experience, inviting praises from Pakistanis.

The 70-year-old ambassador posted his latest adventure of visiting roadside barber in Karachi and getting a haircut from him on Twitter.

He tweeted as saying, “getting a great haircut in the streets of #karachi!! so nice to meet the friendly barber mohammed. he works here everyday to support his wife and 6 children. Hope to see him again on my next trip!!”.

Earlier, Kobler had visited Punjab’s capital and stopped at an ordinary food shop for a plate of chicken biryani – one of South Asian region’s favourite food.

The ambassador shared the experience on his Twitter stating, “had lunch in a small restaurant in #Lahore. big plate of chicken biryani for 100pkr is a great price. and it was very tasty as well!”.

At the request of one of his followers on social media, the German ambassador had paid a visit to a farmhouse in Punjab, where he milked a buffalo.
