The controversy sparked when Elie Saab posted a picture of Gal Gadot on his Instagram:
Things escalated when an image of an Israeli actress Gal Gadot was posted on Elie Saab’s official Instagram page. The social media management team of Elie Saab posted a picture of Gal Gadot in an Elie Saab dress, lavishing it with praises.
Gadot is not only an Israeli actress , she has also worked for the Israeli military and flaunted her training which she got from there in the promotions of her movie Wonder Woman (super woman with militant training). She described in her interviews how her training helped her play this role aptly. It was banned in Lebanon after the BDS activists protested against it due to its main lead which was played by an Israeli ex militant.
During the Gaza war 2014 Israeli military killed around 21,00 Palestinians and Gadot took the social media to support her military.
She posted on Facebook:
“I am sending my love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens. Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas,”
However the post from Elie Saab Instagram account was taken down minutes after but the backlash was huge.
