ISLAMABAD – The administration of twin cities decided to shut down wedding halls, hotels, and restaurants in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from October 14 to 16 amid local holiday due to Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit.
Stern measures are in place, with security being heightened across Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Police cautioned business owners that legal action will be taken against any business that fail to comply. Additionally, SHOs are seeking surety bonds from traders and hotel operators to ensure adherence to the closure directives for three days.
A public holiday has been declared in both cities from October 14 to 16 and all offices, schools, colleges will remain closed.
The government claimed to chalk out comprehensive security plan for SCO summit and there is additional personnel from Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and Punjab police for the moot.
