Police arrest three suspects in Kasur rape case

KASUR – Police on Saturday arrested three suspects following Kasur rape incident in which a seven-year-old girl was killed after being raped.

According to police, the main accused in the case did not carry out the inhuman act alone and had two abettors  with him.

The prime culprit is still at large, while police are conducting raids to arrest him as soon as possible. Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif will brief the media once the accused is held.

Today, the police also release another CCTV footage showing a man roaming near Zainab’s house on January 4. The investigators have also gathered important evidence in the case.

Zainab went missing five days prior to her body being found in a heap of garbage in Kasur. As per details, the girl was abducted near her home when she was on her way to Holy Quran class. An FIR was registered on January 4 by the victim’s uncle Muhammad Adnan as the girl’s parents were out of the country when she went missing. The FIR was registered at Sadar police station in Kasur. Her body was found on Tuesday night.

The act sparked violent protests in the city in which two people were killed during firing by the police, causing more tension in Kasur.
