ISLAMABAD – Chinese Premier Li Qiang is set to visit Pakistan from October 14 to 17, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to strengthen longstanding ties.
The foreign office said Qiang, 65, will land in Islamabad with a high-level delegation that includes ministers and senior officials from several key ministries—such as Foreign Affairs, Commerce, and the National Development and Reform Commission. will lead discussions focusing on all aspects of Pakistan-China relations. Key topics will include economic and trade partnerships, as well as collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Two sides will also encompass regional and global developments, underscoring the importance of mutual support on critical issues. Premier Li is set to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, parliamentary leaders, and senior military officials, further deepening bilateral ties.
Premier Li will participate in the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will also take place in Islamabad. This engagement reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership,” highlighting the two countries’ dedication to reinforcing economic ties and addressing regional challenges.
