Four lose life while battling heat at Karachi s Hawkes Bay

KARACHI – In a tragic turn of events, four people drowned in the Karachi’s Hawkes Bay beach while coping up with heat here on Sunday morning.

According to rescue sources, the deceased were residents of Baldia Town. Dead bodies of two were recovered while rescue officials were searching for the third one.

Regrettably, Pakistan’s metropolis witnesses  incidents of drowning in the summer season, when picnickers swarm the beaches to beat the soaring temperatures in the city. Many of the Karachiites shun the warnings from the civil administration to stay away from deep waters.

In 2015, three people were swept away by a strong tide in the Gadani beach while in 2014, 23 people drowned in Clifton beach despite a ban on swimming in the sea. Both the incidents too took place on one of the Eid days.
