Chinese couple holds marriage in line with Pashtun culture

BATTAGRAM – A Chinese engineer, working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, held his marriage ceremony in line with Pashtoon culture at the Kuzabanda base camp in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday.

The engineer had married a Chinese girl a month ago in his country and now he had conducted it again on the pattern of Pakistani traditions.

The couple also chose traditional dresses for the ceremony as the girl wore an elegant red bridal dress, while the engineer donned Sherwani along with Shalwar Kameez.

Other Chinese engineers, workers and their bosses, who had also put on shalwar kameez, were part of the groom’s wedding procession, locally known as baraat.

The baraatis traveled to a nearby camp where the bride was waiting for her groom.

The Chinese were of the view that they liked the Pakistani culture and they held the marriage in this style in order to bring the people of two countries closer.
