ISLAMABAD – The National Assembly on Thursday was informed that some 659 employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were found holding fake degrees during the selection process.
The lower house of the parliament was informed by the minister of aviation in the written reply. The minister told the house that 391 individuals have been removed, 251 are waiting for their cases to be heard while investigation against 17 is underway.
The house was also informed that PIA inflicted a loss of Rs43.65 billion to the national exchequer.
On the other hand, officials of the Pakistan Railways informed that at least 1184 acres of department’s land have been recovered.
