Shaheed-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan s 64th death anniversary today

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The death anniversary of first Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan is being observed today (Friday).

Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated on 16 October 1951‚ during a public meeting the Muslim League at Company Bagh in Rawalpindi which was later named Liaquat Bagh after him.

He was a close confidante of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

He assisted Muhammad Ali Jinnah in campaigning for the creation of a separate state for Indian Muslims.
Various organizations will hold functions to pay tribute to Shaheed-e-Millat for his services for the nation.

The death anniversary of Nawab Mohsin-ul-Mulk is also being observed on Friday (Oct 16).

Nawab Mohsin-ul-Mulk was born on 9th December 1837 in the town of Etawah.

He died in Simla on 16th October 1907.

To mark the day, seminars and references held across the country where speakers paid rich tributes to Khan Liaquat Ali Khan who struggled with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to get a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent and later served as first prime minister at critical juncture.
