Muslims to make up 29.7 of the world s population by 2050

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a research presented by Pew Research Center (PRC), US-based think tank, it is estimated that world Muslim population with 2.76 billions or 29.7 percent of the total by year 2050.

If the estimate is true, there will be a total rise of 1.161 billion.

As per the report,: “Muslims make up a majority of the population in 49 countries around the world.”

The 2015 and 2017 study of PRC shows that Sub-Saharan Africa will be comprising 24.3 percent of total Muslim poplution. Asia is said to seen a drop; from 61.7 percent of 2010 to 52.8 percent. The population in Middle East and North Africa show just a growth of 0.2 percent from 2010 to 2050.

Muslim population in the US is also expected to double from 0.9 to 2.1 percent, despite the increasing occurrence of Islamophobic attacks.

Currently, Indonesia has the largest Muslim community with 209 million Muslim population (87.2 percent of country’s total). Indonesia will see a rise of 50 million by the year 2050..

India ranks as the second country, with 176 million Muslims (14.4 percent of the total population). Inida is expected to come in the first place in the world by 310 million Muslims.
