Shahnaz Kamal becomes Pakistan’s first female boxer

Pakistan- A proud and motivational moment for everyone in Pakistan as Shahnaz Kamal makes her way into a male dominating sport, boxing. While the world is struggling for female empowerment Kamal has made history. She is the first female Pakistan boxer who is now coaching other young girls to persue their future in boxing. She is recognized and registered by Pakistan boxing federation.

Kamal told how in a patriarchal system her husband was the one to coach her and she became his student gaining two years of training. She didn’t stop there she worked hard for her passion and is the only boxer who has received 3 star for her national boxing. She is internationally recognized as she trained girls from KPK and Multan who won bronze medal in the South Asia games. She first started her training camp in Peshawar and believes that it is a pride for Peshawar.

The man behind this woman’s success is Syed Kamal Khan , husband of Shahnaz who supports her and is very proud of her however his is a bit disappointed with the governments lack of interest for women’s sports. He wishes to train every girl with self defense classes as he want females to feel secure. Khan explained how for him it is the best path (sports) which he and his wife picked for themselves and he is very proud of it.
