The news broke on Thursday when Saudi Arabia’s ministry of commerce and investment officially announced this huge news. Women no longer need the permission of a male guardian to start their own business.
Spokesperson of the ministry Abdul Rahman Al Hussein tweeted this announcement with the hashtag “#no_need” , this certainly is a game changer for the female entrepreneurs in the kingdom.
“No need for a guardian’s permission. Saudi women are free to start their own business freely,” he said.
The registrations and the key processes for the businesses will be done electronically. This change has allowed Men and women to be treated equally with their business giving them more space to be self sustaining. Giving more financial independence to the females will lead to a huge positive change in the society.
“Women can practice all their commercial transactions in the Ministry of Commerce and Investment without a guardian or a notary,” Al Hussein stated

Amendments are made in number of laws which not only allow women empowered Activities but also protects them. It started from driving to sports and now businesses. Male guardian systems have been hinderance for the females to progress and improve but now they can also travel freely by getting a passport without a male permission.
