BAGHDAD (Web Desk) – The United States has announced to send another 200 troops and eight Apache helicopters to Iraq to speed up the fight against the Islamic State.
The announcement came during United States Defence Secretary Ashton Cater’s surprise visit to Iraq, where he also held a question-answer session with American soldiers.
Talking to newsmen in Baghdad, Carter said the US will deploy about 200 additional troops, mostly as advisers for Iraqi troops as they advance towards Mosul, the largest Iraqi city still under Islamic State control.
