Interior Minister calls for solving issue of extension in mandate of Sindh Rangers

 

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has urged Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to exercise his abilities to settle the issue of extension of the mandate of Rangers in Sindh.

In a missive to the Chief Minister, he pointed out that the Rangers played a central part in preserving law and order in Sindh especially in Karachi and restored normalcy.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan regretted that Sindh Government has adopted delaying tactics every time on the issue of extension of the mandate of Rangers in the responsibility.

The Minister said the delay in providing legal cover to the natural processes of the Rangers in Sindh would impact upon the ongoing performance.

He stated it is the joint responsibility of the federal and provincial governments to get rid of bottlenecks in the direction of bringing the operation to its legitimate end.

Meanwhile, Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar contacted Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and discussed with him delay in issuance of notification regarding extension in Rangers powers in Sindh.

On this occasion, the minister said that Rangers’ personnel improved the law and order situation in Karachi without caring their lives and their efforts would not be allowed to go in vain.

He stated the decision to deploy Rangers in Sindh and Karachi operation were held after the interview and consensus of all stakeholders.
