Rains to lash upper Pakistan till Monday

ISLAMABAD (Online) – Scattered rains with thundershowers have been predicted in the country during Friday to Monday, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

A PMD spokesman informed that monsoon currents will start to penetrate over upper parts of the country from Thursday and a westerly wave is also likely to grip the same areas on Friday evening.

Under the influence of these meteorological conditions, scattered rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected in KP, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during Friday to Monday.

Due to interaction of monsoon currents and westerly wave, isolated areas of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan Divisions and the catchment areas of major rivers may receive heavy at times very heavy falls during Friday night to Sunday.
