There are contradictory reports on the number of casualties. Some British media like Reuters and BBC announced that 100-120 military forces were killed.
This attack coincided with the date of the meeting between Taliban spokesman Zabidullah Mujahid and United States special envoy for peace in Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad, in Qatar.
