DERA GHAZI KHAN – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated Sehat Insaf Card programme in Dera Ghazi Khan on Saturday and distributed the Sehat Insaf Cards among the needy people.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, CM Usman Buzdar said South Punjab remained deprived of development due to wrong policies of former rulers which increased the sense of deprivation in people of south Punjab.
“I belong to DG Khan and I am well aware of all problems of this area, I am the lawyer of people of Dera Ghazi Khan and discharging the duty of their representation while sitting in Lahore,” he said.
He said that the government of the PTI giving priority to development and progress in Dera Ghazi Khan and other districts of South Punjab.
“In the same way, we give importance to development in the whole province, I am personally representing all undeveloped districts of south Punjab, including Dera Ghazi Khan, and will take all-out measures for the welfare of the poor,” he said.
“Dera Ghazi Khan will be the most developed division of Punjab in a short period,” he added. He said that Dera Ghazi Khan had been declared as the model district for the health sector.
The historic development package for Dera Ghazi Khan was announced during my visit and further development would be ensured in this area, he said.
The chief minister said the two-way Muzaffargarh-DG Khan Road would be completed by the next month. He added the PTI would improve the living standards of people.
On this occasion, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said as many as 72 lakh people would be given the Sehat Insaf Cards by the end of this year. The poor would also be given transportation charges for medical treatment.
Sehat Insaf Cards programme had been initiated from four districts and it will be extended to other districts in phases, she added.
Federal Environment Minister Zartag Gul said people of DG Khan salute CM Usman Buzdar while adviser on Health Muhammad Hanif Pitafi said CM Usman Buzdar was not only the representative of DG Khan but he was also the pride of DG Khan.
