ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan says the government is embarking on a plan to enhance the country’s exports up to fifty billion dollars by 2018.
Addressing journalists in Islamabad, he said the government has prepared the Strategic Trade Policy Framework in this regard which will be announced next month. The policy will focus on value addition, market access through Free Trade Agreements with different countries and incentivizing Pakistani exporters through State Bank of Pakistan.
Khurram Dastgir said the government would also extend rebate offers to the exporters to facilitate them in their exports.
He said whatever the government would announce in the policy would be business and exporters friendly and help enhance country’s exports. The Commerce Minister urged the agriculture sector to improve standards to promote exports of agriculture products to the international markets.
