Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson, known for his blockbuster television series including Rome, Vikings, and Dexter, has passed away at the age of 58.
Stevenson was known for his impeccable acting in the Thor films and the Divergent series, as well as several UK TV shows including Band of Gold, Peak Practice and Murphy’s Law.
Stevenson’s US-based publicist firm, Viewpoint, confirmed the news of his demise to media outlets not providing any further details. No cause of death has been revealed, but the actor was reportedly hospitalized during filming on the Italian island Ischia where he was working on an action flick, Cassino in Ischia.
His death was announced four days before his 59th birthday.
Stevenson was known for his 2004 big-budget Hollywood film, King Arthur, alongside Keira Knightley. Most recently, the late actor was seen in Volstagg in the Thor trilogy and Titus Pullo in HBO’s historical drama series Rome. He will star as Baylan Skoll in the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka.
